Dr. Sue Cremini's Positive Entertainment

Dr. Sue: Cremini’s Restaurant Positive Entertainment

Cremini’s Restaurant a “delizioso” (the Italian word for “delicious”) taste of Italy in Brooklyn, New York.

What is a “cremini”? A sweet dessert that combines perfectly with the salty taste of an “Ascolana” (stuffed) olive.

Cremini’s Restaurant invites you to sample varieties of both (with and without meat).

Ascolana olives and cremini’s come from Le Marche region on the east coast of Italy on the Adriatic Sea.

Le Marche is also famous for “crescia” – Italian flatbread – hand-made into appetizing sandwiches and a fettucini pasta (molded into a mound).

Italian “cucina” (cuisine) is best washed down with wine. So sample some favorites from the vineyards of Le Marche: “Passeria Brut” – a sparkling white wine that is a richer version of Prosecco.

Or try the “Lacrima” red wine. “Lacrima” means “tears” in Italian – which is close to Latin.

(To my surprise, I was able to remember “lacrima” from my high school Latin class – when we read “The Iliad” in Latin.

As my students once reminded me “Nothing you learn is ever a waste!”)

It’s so true – culture, language, and variety of accents enrich our enjoyment of wine and food – and vice versa.

I hope my blog opens the door to appreciate the rich variety of cultures and wines – wherever you live.

Care to try a little Italian? Can you say “Mi piace” (“I like it”)? Or enjoy my original, multi-lingual song “Te Amo/Ti Amo (I Love You)” which begins: “I only meant to share some wine….”

You can explore the joys of local wines and vineyards when you Discover Upstate New York https://www.discoverupstateny.com/dine-stay/wineries-vineyards/

Here’s my video with Riccardo, who co-owns Cremini’s with his wife and chef Elena.

Dr. Sue: Free Legal Help NYC Positive Entertainment

Share a Ride – Save five thousand dollars ($5,000) !

You can – when you learn to Be Your Brightest Friend!

Sharing a ride is the bright way to travel around New York City. It’s less stressful than the subway and less expensive than solo rides. I use Via Car Service ridewithvia.com (let me know if I should refer you).

Save a Hat is what my fellow passenger did when my favorite hat fell on the floor – black side up and hard to see. As she was exiting, she said “Your hat fell on the floor.” Sure enough – there it was with its golden treble clef that symbolizes my love of music! Her behavior told me more about her character than any internet profile or job resume! And it started my morning with faith in human nature – and some members of the legal profession. You see, she spoke in an intelligent manner, and she exited our Via Car near the Manhattan Courthouse at 9 am. This told me that she probably worked in some legal capacity….right?

Now the question you’re all waiting for…. how did I save five-thousand dollars ($5,000) ?

I was on my way to the Brooklyn Surrogate Court to pursue my own case. I was representing myself because lawyers are expensive, and I figured I could do my own digging and get the help I needed – at least, for now. If I needed a lawyer – I would cross that expensive bridge when I came to it (probably a $5,000 retainer…and billing at $400/hour).

Guess what? The Brooklyn Surrogate Court (and many other courts) have a Help Center for people who don’t have lawyers. Of course, I had to figure out to solve some tricky issues (like confusing legal forms, finding a capable, convenient process server (Thanks EmpireLegalService.com ) – and find free Legal Help (scroll down for the link)

My first court date was in the pouring rain when I was on crutches! But my dear friend/stained glass artist & repairs Dennis Lynch (http://astainedglass.com/ ) drove me in his car (which he named “Sue” – after me). We drove in “A Car Named Sue” to the handicapped entrance of the courthouse. I staggered in on my crutch with an injured knee but a determined mind! I looked pathetic in the courtroom – so much the better!

What about saving five-thousand dollars ($5,000)?

That’s how much my opponent’s lawyer charged today – just for showing up in court and a few hours of easy work. I would have had to pay my own lawyer much more money (for more time). But despite the hard work, it’s been an exciting challenge – and I learned a lot about free legal help!

Here’s a link to free Legal Help: https://www.nycourts.gov/courthelp/GoingToCourt/gettingHelp.shtml

Can you do it too? I can’t be sure. But for sure, you can do a lot more than you think you can – just Be Your Brightest Friend!

Dr. Sue Shane Townley Positive Entertainment

Dr. Sue: New York Art Positive Entertainment

Shane Townley, Owner New York Art, and Dr. Sue

New York Art is a Manhattan Gallery, Website/App, Touring Exhibition, Art Show/Party in Tribeca, NY – and the vision of Artist-Owner-Shane Townley!

Shane and I are standing in front of a sign for Gallery 104, his first venture in the New York art scene – a tiny gallery, where we first met a few years ago. That little seed has put down roots in Manhattan bedrock with an upstairs gallery at 7 Franklin Place and a vast downstairs Exhibition/Work Space for artists that hosts a new show/reception/arts salon on the first Thursday of every month! (May 2, June 6, July 4, Aug 1, Sept 5…)
https://newyorkart.com/

New York Art Gallery Show

The main gallery space is one floor below street level, and one floor below that is the raw space where New York Art houses its touring collection of artworks – designed to raise awareness, funds, and art supplies for children abandoned in hospitals. This sub-basement remains at a chilly 65 degrees – perfect for a wine cellar where collectors of fine wines can store and share rare vintages.

If climbing those stairs seems daunting, consider this. My first visit to New York Art’s underground gallery took place in December 2018 – before there were stairs – just a thin metal ladder from street level to a dark, unfinished basement space. Shane, his long-legged Artist-Curator Cathy Condon, and a few bold souls had managed the ladder. I have short legs and a fear of heights. But Cathy offered to hold my bag and go first – so I tried it. It was a true challenge, thrill, and adventure – what New York dreams are made of!

Dr. Sue Funny Thanksgiving Song! Positive Entertainment

Susan (“Dr. Sue”) Horowitz, Ph.D. sings her original, funny song “Life Is Just a Bowl of Gravy” A Turkey meets a Pilgrim who invites her for dinner! Please Like, Share & Subscribe to my YouTube Channel! Scroll Down for Lyric. LIFE IS JUST A BOWL OF GRAVY © 2019 Susan Horowitz This is a tale of a turkey bird who went to a turkey trot When anyone asked her “Will you dance?” She answered “I will not. I’ll only dance with a gentleman who makes our country great If he’s got money, I’ll call him my honey, and he will be my date.” Life is just a bowl of gravy – sometimes so surprising Life is just a bowl of gravy – and very appetizing! Suddenly somebody stepped on in who came from Pilgrim stock He said, “I’ll be candid, I have just landed nearby on Plymouth Rock I got money and power, I sail the Mayflower and you look mighty fine Please do not stall, my sweet butterball, and come with me to dine.” Life is just a bowl of gravy – sometimes so surprising Life is just a bowl of gravy – and very appetizing! They went to a fabulous restaurant, she was his dinner date When they got there, the table was bare except for an empty plate The rest of the story is terribly gory – her ending won’t appeal Fine dining is finer when you’re the diner, but not when you’re the meal! Life is just a bowl of gravy – sometimes so surprising Life is just a bowl of gravy – and very appetizing!

Dr. Sue Liquid BioCell for Joints and Skin Positive Entertainment

Dr. Sue & Health Coach Tony Pajunen

Dr. Sue & Health Coach Tony Pajunen

Active Joints, Amazing Skin! That’s the promise of Liquid BioCell – an all-natural, multi-patented, award-winning nutritional supplement called Liquid BioCell. How does Liquid BioCell work? Our bodies are made up of 70% water – it’s in our joints, skin, bones, eyes, gums – every tissue of our bodies.  As we age, we lose water (that’s why dehydration is a health risk – especially for the elderly).  Our skin wrinkles and sags, and we dry up like prunes! Wait, there’s more!  Our joints lose collagen (the cushion between the bones) so our bones begin to rub directly against each other with no cushion, creating painful arthritis (inflammation of the joints) – and the next thing you know, you’re headed for surgery (knee replacement? hip replacement?) – risky, painful procedures that don’t always work! What about our bones?  They’re getting stiff, brittle, porous and prone to fracture. One bad fall, and there you are, lying in a nursing home bed, getting weaker as your muscles atrophy, and losing your eyesight due to macular degeneration. Meanwhile, your gums are shrinking, and your teeth are falling out! (That’s no good – unless you’re a Jack O’Lantern!) You may have noticed that Tony and I look cheerful. He’s a youngster of 31, but I’m on the far side of fifty – so I’m very interested in staying healthy and leading a full, active life!  That’s why I was curious about Liquid BioCell – skeptical, but curious.  Here’s what I learned. Liquid BioCell is a multi-patented, award-winning collagen matrix that has passed 37 clinical trials and is recommended by  orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, and nutritionists.  In 2015, it won several awards for best bone and joint health supplement, and was featured on several USA national news programs. According to its Ivy League educated, scientific leadership team, Liquid BioCell works through a patented formula of “hyaluronic acid” and collagen, which begin to decline in our bodies after the age of 25. This formula penetrates and hydrates the molecules of our bodies far beyond what simple water or any topical skin cream can accomplish. And unlike plastic surgery (which cuts and pulls aging skin – with no health benefit) Liquid BioCell promises to generate healthier, younger skin from the inside out in about 3-4 months – with no risk. I don’t claim to understand all the science, but the clinical studies, personal stories, and before-and-after photos are impressive! Some people have severe health issues and experience dramatic recovery (like the man who could not lift his arm and is now water skiing, or  the former ballerina, who can dance again,  or  the 92 year old woman who has had several falls – without breaking bones). Even if you’re fortunate enough to enjoy good health, I do believe that preventing problems is more effective and far easier than trying to cure them. I’m a practical person, and here’s how I see it. If Liquid BioCell doesn’t work, then I’ll stop taking it – no harm done. If it does work, then I’m on a road to great health, an active life style, and looking great!  And who doesn’t want that? Video: Dr. Sue Invites You!
