Dr. Sue Sings Funny Thanksgiving Song

Dr. Sue Sings Funny Original Thanksgiving Song! Positive Entertainment

Dr. Sue Sings Original Funny Song about Voting & Thanksgiving Turkey!
Positive Entertainment

Every Thanksgiving, I give thanks that I am not a turkey!

This popular holiday celebrates the arrival (and survival) of European immigrants on the North American continent with a Thanksgiving feast. Virginia and Massachusetts boast about hosting the first Thanksgiving. You don’t hear as much from the Native Americans, who were already here. Turkeys are prominently featured on most American Thanksgiving tables and greatly admired – but they are not available for comment.

Why not? What wisdom can we glean from the fate of turkeys? Surely we should learn something after hundreds of years… or at least four years after the 2016 election!

If you think that someone who looks rich and claims to be a “real American” because his ancestors got here a few generations ago, will Make America Great for You, consider the fate of the foolish turkey…who gets plucked!

Enjoy my Song Video “Life is Just a Bowl of Gravy!”
Scroll down for song lyrics.

"Life is Just a Bowl of Gravy"

This is a tale of a turkey bird who went to a turkey trot
When anyone asked her "Will you dance?" She answered, "I will not"
I'll only dance with a gentleman who makes my country great
If he's got money I'll call him my honey, and he will be my date.

Life is just a bowl of gravy - saucy and surprising
Life is just a bowl of gravy - and very appetizing!

Suddenly somebody stepped on in who came from pilgrim stock
He said "I'll be candid, my boat has just landed nearby on Plymouth Rock
I sail the Mayflower and I got the power and you look mighty fine
Please do not stall my sweet Butterball and come with me to dine

Life is just a bowl of gravy - saucy and surprising
Life is just a bowl of gravy - and very appetizing!

They went to a fabulous restaurant, she was his dinner date
But when they got there, the table was bare except for an empty plate
The rest of the story is terribly gory - her fate we still recall
If you didn't get here by the Mayflower dear
We're in the same boat - so get out and Vote!
And dance at your own Turkey Ball!

Life is just a bowl of gravy - saucy and surprising
Life is just a bowl of gravy - and very appetizing!

Artis-Protester-BlackLivesMatter

Dr. Sue Interviews Artist-Protester Black Lives Matter Positive Entertainment

Dr. Sue Interviews Artist-Protester Black Lives Matter
Positive Entertainment

Dr. Sue Interviews Artist-Protester Elizabeth Abraham.

Ms. Abraham shares her artwork – a tall vertical sign, which she carries in protest marches in New York City.

The sign includes the letters “B L M” –
which stand for “Black Lives Matter.”
This popular, and sometimes controversial slogan
is often shouted in the streets.

Ms. Abraham asserts that we should fight racism – both here in mainland USA and in her native Puerto Rico. “Fight, fight, fight! But you don’t have to get physical, you can fight with intelligence.”

The other side of the sign shows a photograph of Reverend Martin Luther King.

Ms. Abraham quotes Reverend King, saying “We could have come in different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.”

Other symbolic items on this combination picket sign and 3-Dimensional collage art include: the USA Flag in a heart-shape, eyeglasses, and the numbers 2020 – because that is the current year – a year of vast upheaval, a pandemic, and a global confrontation of injustice.

The sign is designed as a vertical rectangle on a stick so that it is portable and visible. Ms. Abraham can hold her sign high above the crowd and be seen by participants and media.

As you’ll see by my video interview, Ms. Abraham speaks clearly and passionately about the protests and the death of George Floyd, the latest, glaring example of systemic racism.

But despite the seriousness of the issues, Ms. Abraham is never hostile or argumentative. In fact, the entire interview took place in an atmosphere of cooperation and sincere, friendly communication.

Ms. Abraham started creating her artwork as a way to give herself a a creative outlet and sense of purpose during a pandemic in New York City, where we have spent much time confined to our homes. This is especially true for seniors like Ms. Abraham, who are at extra risk for Covid-19.

Many people, who are stuck at home feel bored, unhappy, lonely, and fearful. But Ms. Abraham finds a way to turn a negative situation into an opportunity for growth, creativity, and sharing.

I hope that you enjoy this video:

Dr. Sue Ten Commandments
Dr. Sue Ten Commandments

Happy Passover, Easter, Spring… and whatever you celebrate!

I hope this photograph makes you think of all we have in common:

We all need something to believe in.

We all need just laws that serve the greater good.

We all need sunshine  (above the 10 commandments in the photo)

We all need generosity – open arms and open heart.

We all need to believe in Spring – symbolized by the green color of my dress and the flowers in my shawl.

We all need to feel part of a community.

When we cannot be physically close, when it’s not wise to physically touch, we can still feel close in many ways.

We can talk on the phone, we can connect on social media, we can send emails, and texts.

We can contact someone who would appreciate our reaching out.

We can give, and we can help… we can lift our own spirits – and the spirits of others.

We can forgive, we can give a kind word, a sincere compliment, and tangible gifts of money, food and supplies.

We can appreciate those who give so much more!

And no matter what you believe – we believe in you!

In case you need the gift of song and laughter, here’s my song:

Dr. Sue sings her original song “We’re In This Together”

I created my song “We’re In This Together”

to share my belief that we are all part of one human family.

I hope my song lifts your spirit and gives you the feeling

that you are not alone, and that we all matter.

If we stand together, share resources,

and act with caring and community responsibility,

we shall overcome the COVID-19 – Coronavirus – pandemic – and future challenges (which will surely come).

We all need to stand together as one human family.

Songs can reach our minds, touch our hearts, and uplift our spirits.

Dr. Sue Make a Mask out of a Bra! Funny Positive Entertainment

“Masks probably do provide some protection.” That’s the latest news from The New York Times

NYTimes on Masks and Coronavirus:

“Masks probably do provide some protection. They’re particularly effective at keeping somebody who already has the virus from spreading it to others, and they may also make the mask’s wearer less likely to get sick.

“Coronavirus appears to mostly spread when germ-containing droplets make it into a person’s mouth, nose, or eyes,” Vox’s German Lopez explains. “If you have a physical barrier in front of your mouth and nose, that’s simply less likely to happen.”

Of course we should give first priority for masks to health-care workers. And there may be no masks available.

What can you do?  You can Make Your Own Mask!

It may not be medical grade – but it is surely better than nothing! Tie a Scarf around your Nose and Mouth! (You’ll feel like a Movie Star – The Lone Ranger! ) Or Use a Bra Cup – any size will do! Fasten with hooks and eyes, snaps or elastic – get creative. Or cut up an old shirt or pants leg! (Use your imagination, your scarf, shirt, pants…or bra!)

Fashion Forward  means NewYorkStrong!

You don’t have to live in New York to be NewYorkStrong !

What about USAStrong ? OneWorldStrong?
